Why Did You Want to
Become a Dentist?

“As the youngest of 6 kids, my brothers and sisters feared going to the dentist. I liked my pediatric dentist and enjoyed going to appointments. Growing up, I didn’t have many dental issues, while my siblings were always having problems because they avoided dentistry. I wanted to become a pediatric dentist so I could be a patient’s first good experience, hopefully creating a patient who was free of dental fears. While in dental school, I discovered that I enjoyed all aspects of dentistry, excluding ones that were performed only on adults. That is when I decided to pursue family dentistry, which allowed me to be a child’s first good experience while also being a grandparent’s first good experience.”
